CHEETAH CONSERVATION FUND (OTJIWARONGO,OTJOZONDJUPA) FARMERS FOR AFRICA
Thu, 29 Aug 2019
Founded in 1990, the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) is located at the base of the Waterberg Plateau east of Otjiwarongo. Ninety percent of Namibian cheetahs live on farmlands, CCF works actively to develop integrated programmes that enable the cheetah to live in harmony with people. CCF’s programmes aim to reduce human-wildlife conflict, establish sustainable livestock and wildlife management, and provide alternative income to local people with the ultimate goal of ensuring long-term survival of the cheetah. The Foundation provided medical supplies for the mobile clinic to deliver services (including reducing rabies to prevent infection to people and animals, to neuter stray dogs and generally improve the health of livestock) and support in more remote/rural areas where the need is the greatest; but where people have limited means to travel.
