Development Workshop (Namibian NGO) COVID-19 RESPONSE – LÜDERITZ
Sun, 30 Aug 2020
Based on the impact fullness of the Windhoek tippy tap programme, the Foundation contacted DWN to enquire on the possibility of extending the tippy tap project to Lüderitz. Feedback from DWN indicated that the COVID-19 task force was very excited about the tippy tap contribution as they were trying to encourage people for regular hand washing but lacked the means to implement a larger project. A shack count was done and satellite imagery showed there were closed to 3 000 shacks in Lüderitz. That made one tippy tap per two households in Windhoek it is one tippy tap per three households on average. A total of 1 500 tippy taps were installed in Lüderitz.
