RENT-A-DRUM & Plastic Packaging - Project Prestine Namibia
Thu, 29 Aug 2019
The Namibian President on 25 May 2018 launched a clean up campaign for Namibia and requested Plastic Packaging and Rent-a-Drum to come up with an initiative that could benefit the community of Namibia and at the same time clean Namibia and keep it clean. Rent-a-Drum subsequently designed a container with a boiler machine that can compress the waste in order for ease of transporting thereof to Windhoek and outside the borders. Concept for the collection of waste for the container would enable the town councils to ascertain people from the community and then those individuals would then again identify a group of individuals from the community to collect and sort the waste in return for payment. The Minister of Environment and Tourism in 2019 and several regional governors officially launched Project Prestine Namibia in Windhoek. The Foundation donated one mobile recycling centre to be stationed in the //Kharas Region.
