Lüderitz ICU (State Hospital) Upscale Facilities
Sun, 30 Aug 2020
Lüderitz hospital is a district general facility in the //Kharas region manned by three general practitioners. It provides primary and a limited scope of secondary healthcare services including Oranjemund clinic. The Hospital’s role in the COVID-19 response is primary prevention efforts, screening programmes and treatment of COVID-19 cases, including significantly ill cases (who require ventilation). It was discovered that the Hospital would require a high care unit to manage complicated COVID-19 cases. This will require an invasive ventilator and some ancillary equipment to support the high care unit. The ancillary equipment includes a high care ward bed; vitals monitor and blood gas machine. The Foundation provided the hospital with one bed, blinds for their office as well as curtains around the beds for the high care unit.
